If there is one area of my house that isn’t consumed with spit-up and baby toys, it’s my dining room. I love my dining room. And I LOVE setting my table for special occasions. When Scott and I first got engaged, he didn’t see the need for a formal dining room OR for formal dining place settings, for that matter. Now that we’ve been married for a few years, he sees it differently. It’s the place where friends and family have gathered, laughed and swapped stories. It’s the place where we are teaching our son to pray, eat, and have conversation. The dining room is a special place and it’s where friends have sat for hours after dinner, talking and drinking wine.
I have found a few fun things to add to my Easter table this year. I usually opt for just a little bit of scatter rather than flowers or an arrangement in the middle. For one, once all the crystal is set in place, there isn’t much room in the middle and second, it’s hard to have conversation with someone across the table when there is an arrangement blocking the view. A simple plaid runner adds some light to my dark wood table and the little bunny napkin rings add a festive touch!
