My anniversary was April 5. I’ve only been married for four years, but it really does seem like much longer. I think about those couples that have been married for 35 years – that’s a lifetime! What does it feel like to be married to someone that long? I guess only time will tell!
My wedding took place on a horse farm outside of Tampa, Florida. It was exactly as I imagined it. It was everything I wanted and could have ever wanted. Nothing over-the-top. Nothing fancy. Just Scott and I with our closest friends and family. I chose soft colors. We ate southern food. We danced the night away. This wedding exemplified our personal style in every way. My sorority sister took the pictures and she did a phenomenal job. She has her own company in downtown Tampa. Every time I look back at these pictures I think about how happy I was this day. It was truly the happiest day of my life. Hopefully you’ll enjoy scrolling through! I picked a few of my favorites (out of 3,000 pictures).
My beautiful girls. Some related by blood. Some not. But they are ALL considered my sisters!
My mom bought my shoes as a surprise. They are now in the family hope chest, along with my veil and pieces made by my great grandmother.
My sister always has my back.
Scott and I did a “first look.” We wanted to get a majority of the pictures done before the ceremony so as not to keep everyone waiting for long. This moment was just as special as when I walked down the aisle.
Our crew…
There is nothing more beautiful than Spanish moss dripping from 100 year old oak trees in the south.
I fell in love with this dress the minute I put it on. After our wedding, I had dreams that I would “throw it on” and wear it to parties.
My beautiful sister and matron of honor.
My beautiful Mango (Martha Jane). I’m so glad my sorority sister captured this special moment. She was gushing about how proud she was of me and how she had never seen me happier and more beautiful. She is the epitome of a classy, southern lady. I’m so happy she was able to make it to my wedding.
Of course my grand entrance had to be pretentious and obnoxious.
“Daddy always said an ounce of pretention is worth a pound of manure.”
Yes, I waved at everyone while walking down the aisle.
Now we party!
Stay tuned for Part 2 where I post pictures of our reception!
