I took advantage of some Black Friday sales and got some really cute things. This is just a collection of “stuff” that I’ve either had my eye on or purchased.
Turtleneck Sweater – I LOVE these fleece turtlenecks. I bought my first one when Grady was a baby (three years ago) and still wear it once a week in the winter. They are pricey, but if you join their pineapple points rewards program, you can earn cash just by following them on social media. I got the emerald green one on sale for Black Friday through another website. They are worth the price for as much as I wear them.
Pajamas – When I taught school, I loved getting dressed in the morning. My outfits were on point. Now I’m a stay at home mom. I wear workout clothes to the gym in the morning, I come home and shower, and put on more workout clothes. In addition, I was wearing my husbands boxers and t-shirts to bed. Not a sexy look. Now that I’ve started to lose the baby weight, I want something cute to wear to bed. The best part of my day is getting cozy in bed at night and it all feels right when I have something nice to wear. These were on sale for Black Friday.
Boy’s Pajamas – These little Christmas pajamas are precious and Grady picked them out for he and his brother. Problem is, it took forever to get them in the mail. I ordered them beginning of November, was promised mid November shipping and they didn’t ship out until beginning of December. I emailed them and (nicely) explained the situation. They gave me a store credit for the entire amount and then an extra $10 for the inconvenience. Talk about customer service!
Personalized Plates – If you’ve been following along for a hot second, you know that I love to set a table. I started collecting these plates for the boys for the different holidays. The woman that makes them is super fast with her manufacturing and shipping. They’re sturdy and add a touch of whimsy when we sit down to eat. They are also dishwasher and microwave safe. I’ve also purchased personalized stationary for the boys from her so I guess you could say I’m a dedicated customer.
Stockings – For years I’ve tried to have elegant monogramed stockings. I wanted everyone to have the exact same one. I wanted everything to match. Well, that just can’t happen for everyone. My husband convinced me that stockings are one of the best things about Christmas. Grady picked the train for himself (he is ALL about trains right now) and he picked the firetruck for Drake. I thought that was so cute because Drake is all about Grady’s trucks.
Personalized Bracelets – I’m not the type of girl that NEEDS to get a gift from her husband. It really doesn’t bother me. If there’s something that I REALLY want, I’ll just go out and get it. I also don’t get disappointed if there’s nothing for me under the tree. With that being said, I still think the boys need to see their dad get something for their mom. They may marry a girl one day who’s love language is gifts. They also need to see the act of giving. So for that, I bought two of these bracelets with the boy’s names on them and put them in my own stocking. That way, Scott doesn’t have to think about it and I’ll be able to make a big deal about a gift with a THANK YOUUUUU and I LOVEEEE ITTT! These bracelets are made by a girl out of St. Louis, Missouri. It’s a small business but she’s booming. Her bracelets are everywhere.
Boots – Purchased these KNOWING I would need them and boy am I glad I did. As long as I’ve lived in Maryland, I never purchased a warm, snow boot. It’s always been sneakers (or an old pair of worn UGGS) and I just made do. These are comfortable and warm and I wear them with just about everything.
Winter Wonderland Mug – I love china and dishes. I love to set a table. One of my goals is to eventually have this line of dishes as my Christmas china. I got the mug from a Black Friday sale to check out the quality and I’m obsessed. The founders and CEO are from High Point, North Carolina. They make the most beautiful pieces. I would eventually like to invest in the Lastra Holiday collection to set my table for years to come.
Nutcracker Cocktail Napkins – Since putting in our bar area, I had great ambition to decorate that little area. Not much has been done, but I did order these cocktail napkins. You can always start with a cute cocktail napkin, right? It’s a small business out of Charleston, South Carolina and she specializes in personalized cocktail napkins.
Jewelry Travel Case – When we start traveling again, I’d like to have a new case to carry my jewels. I’m looking for something sturdy with organized compartments. Throwing everything in a bag and calling it a day isn’t working. By the time we get to said destination, everything is in a ball that I have to untangle. I really like these and if I can add a monogram, that’s even better. I’ve got my eye on them and waiting for some kind of sale.
So there you have it – a few of my favorite things!
