Sweet and Savory Charcuterie Tray

I LOVE sweets and treats. Once a week, I allow myself to indulge. I found this champagne cheese the other day in the store and that’s what triggered it. That cheese? The best dang cheese I’ve ever eaten. There’s just something about it…I can still taste it.

There are also certain candies that only come out during Valentine’s Day that I see in Target. My mouth starts to water and I resist the urge to buy bags and bags. I love the chewy candies that are full of sugar and get stuck in your teeth.

So between the champagne cheese and the chewy candies I thought I would get it all over with at once and create a sweet and savory board.

My Shopping List:

  • champagne cheese
  • smoked gouda
  • prosciutto
  • salami
  • water crackers
  • multigrain crackers
  • sour cherry spread (I like to add a dollop to the smoked gouda and prosciutto)
  • Rosè jelly bellies
  • fudge filled M&M’s
  • heart gummies
  • box of chocolates
  • strawberries

And yes, I had help eating this.

I always start with my cheeses. I cut half the block and make little bite sized squares. Then I place those at opposite ends of the board. Next, I work on placing the meats around the cheeses. I usually fold them into little ribbons and tuck them into one another. The crackers come next and I usually layer them in opposite directions. The chocolate is placed down towards the empty sections at the bottom. Last, I just start filling in any holes with all the candies and strawberries.

It’s fun. It’s easy. It’s colorful. It’s delicious. It’s also riddled with calories. Life is too short. Buy the cheese.
