If you don’t know the backstory of Barb, you can catch up on her here. To make a long story short, she was my 80 year old neighbor turned lifelong friend. She has no children of her own and when her husband passed away last Christmas it was in her best interest to move to Michigan to be closer to her sister and her family. She knew how much I loved to throw dinner parties so she gave all her wedding china to me. It was such an honor to take it and it is definitely something I’ll cherish forever.
I don’t know much about the brand other than it’s Rosenthal, which is a company from Germany. I also know that Versace did a collaboration with this particular china brand so they do still have products in production. This particular print is no longer available so if I break it, I’m screwed.
The set that Barb left me includes 8 place settings including dinner plates, salad plates, appetizer plates, coffee/tea cups and saucers, bowls, and all the serving pieces. I’m in love with the rich navy color and I was able to mix and match with pieces I already had. I love flecks of gold during the Christmas season so the gold rim around all the china was an added bonus.
Table Details: Rosenthal china // tablecloth // dinner napkins // glass chargers // wine glasses
Centerpiece: I took two pieces of garland and placed them down the center side by side. I added gold berry picks and gold pinecone ornaments from my living room tree. Gold votives tucked inside the branches finished it off.

Everyone said the food tasted delicious but Scott and I are always very critical of ourselves. I forgot to add the parmesan to the risotto and totally forgot about the mushrooms. With that being said, everyone ate all the food and drank all the wine and lingered in the kitchen until 11p.m. I show my love by feeding people so setting the table and brining people around is important to me. Maybe this will give you some dinner inspiration of your own!
