My Wedding Reception

My wedding took place in 2014, but I still look at pictures and reminisce. It was one of the best days/nights of my life. I was so happy and my husband and I had the support of so many friends and family. The food was amazing, the drinks were flowing, and everyone partied the night away.

The Dinner

The reception hall was conveniently located across the lawn from where we were married. The original name of the venue was Lange Farms. They have since been renamed to Stonebridge Events and everything has been renovated. I’m hoping we get to go visit the next time we’re in Florida and go take the boys.

Our cake was from Publix and had a raspberry filling. It went so fast that I never even got a slice!

My grandfather bought my grandmother (Mango) an aquamarine broach on a trip they took to London. That was my something old, borrowed and blue and was tucked into my bouquet.

We spent a majority of our budget on food. We wanted our people to be well fed. We couldn’t afford a plated sit down dinner but I also didn’t want a buffet so we were able to meet in the middle and have stations of different foods with people serving. Some of Scott’s childhood friends own a catering company and restaurants and they catered our wedding. The food was delicious and our guests were full. We had prime rib, we had chicken, we had shrimp and grits in martini glasses, and all the sides you could think of.

Guava jelly is a big thing in the south. My mom makes it homemade and made a 100 or so jars as party favors.

My sister was my matron of honor.

The Party

My dad and his sister, Aunt Libbit.

It didn’t take long to get the party started. My mom was the first out on the dance floor.

My cousins…

My aunt Margie and cousin Forrest.

Sorority sisters and besties for life.

My Mango partied the night away with her wine.

My dad’s birthday was the next day so the entire reception serenaded him with a happy birthday. We bought him something to hang in his house in the Florida Keys.

Scott and all his fraternity brothers.

My sorority sisters and friends for almost 20 years at this point. We were all three in each other’s weddings.

It was such a fun night and these pictures take me back to that night. Thanks for taking a look!
